Built for engineers who want more.

What we look forGreat engineers, not perfect resumes.

[02]What we look for

Five signs of a gem.

  1. 01

    Strong fundamentals

You know why things work, not just how.

  2. 02

    Shipped work

You have built real products that real people use.

  3. 03

    Ownership

You take a problem from vague to done.

  4. 04

    Clear communication

You write and speak clear English, async and live.

  5. 05

    Curiosity

You keep learning, especially as AI changes the craft.

[03] How we vet

Only gems pass.

Four layers, the same for everyone. Pass them once, and you are in the network for good.

  1. Layer 1

    Profile review

Real experience, checked. We review shipped work, code, and references — not buzzwords.

Tip · Share links to real work: products, repos, or write-ups.

  2. Layer 2

    Technical interview

A deep, honest conversation with a senior engineer about fundamentals, system design, and your stack.

Tip · Explain your trade-offs. How you think matters as much as the answer.

  3. Layer 3

    Live build

A practical task that looks like real startup work. No trick puzzles — just how you think, build, and test.

Tip · Keep it simple, tested, and easy to read.

  4. Layer 4

    Communication & ownership

Clear English, async habits, and ownership. Remote work runs on trust, so we check for it.

Tip · Show how you keep a team informed without being asked.

  5. Result

    Passed. Ready to match.

Only engineers who clear all four layers join the Passgem network.
